Baptism is the moment in faith when we submit our lives to God. We
obey Him and allow ourselves to be immersed in water. By faith we
believe that it is during this moment that God keeps His promise
to us and washes away our sins. Baptism is the commitment moment
of our lives. As you look at the original text of the Bible you
will see the word baptizo
it simply means to be immersed
in water. This word has never been translated because the
implications of translating it would mean that many religious
groups would need to change their traditions. Most translators
simply transliterate this word into English without translating
it.
